PAS13 Code of Practice | Effective Handrail Application

To ensure pedestrian safety, a safety barrier should include a handrail or balustrade if it is used in an area where pedestrians are present. Handrails should be high enough so that a person cannot fall over the barrier. Additionally, all surfaces should be smooth to further reduce the risk of injury.
