Aesthetically striking protection for new ŠKODA Octavia plant
Our workplace safety solution range was selected for use at ŠKODA’s new Octavia manufacturing plant to replace under-performing steel guardrails and minimise repetitive maintenance costs.

ŠKODA is an automotive manufacturer founded in 1895 and headquartered in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic, with seven global production plants.
SITUATION
ŠKODA required quality, protective safety solutions for its new Octavia manufacturing plant, after previously utilising A-SAFE products to protect its Superb and Yeti plants. Existing, damaged steel guardrails needed replacing, and ŠKODA also desired an attractive, modern-looking facility with clear, safe, separated routes for vehicles and pedestrians.
A-SAFE were challenged to complete the installation ahead of an open day at the site to celebrate 120 years of ŠKODA motors.
SOLUTION
To transform the Octavia plant into a safe, separated and aesthetically pleasing facility, A-SAFE manufactured, supplied and installed iFlex Single Traffic+ Guardrail to separate personnel and vehicles in high traffic workplace areas and protect pedestrian walkways.
The team also fitted iFlex Single Traffic Guardrail High Level at an impact height of 460mm to protect walls and infrastructure from tall hand-powered pallets, and Bollards to safeguard gates and entrances both internally and externally, shielding the building’s fabric from vehicle damage.
Our iFlex barriers are purpose designed to provide industry-leading workplace protection. On impact, iFlex guardrails absorb kinetic energy, dissipating it through the guardrails to minimise damage to the floor, before flexing back to their original shape.
