We are looking for a People Manager (HR Generalist) reporting directly to the CEO, and to become a member of the Management Team who can continue to build and enhance our talented team of professionals in a rapidly growing company.


Primary roles and responsibilities

  • Enhance the organizations current human resources system ensuring it complies with the organizational goals and objectives
  • Support diversity in the organization
  • Analyze wage and salary reports, ensuring the business creates a comprehensive and competitive compensation program that aligns with the organizational objectives
  • Administer and maintain employee benefits and wellness programs. Assess trends in benefits and recommend adjustments where appropriate. Ensure a smooth transition each year during open enrollment
  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with department managers to discuss role needs
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations that affect the human resource function. Ensure organization remains in compliance will all legal requirements. Update policies and procedures and educate managers regarding compliance accordingly
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention, employee engagement, training and orientation of new staff member. Responsible for prescreening, background investigations and credentials of new staff members
  • Develop a structured job description format, for both internal and external job posting
  • Facilitate annual performances appraisal system with department managers and support development of ongoing training needs of the company.
  • Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource procedures, supporting counselling and disciplinary functions of staff when needed
  • Retain historical human resources records by designing a filing and retrieval system, keeping past, and current records
  • Serve as an employee advocate for new hires as well as established employees
  • Administer our ADP payroll system bi-weekly, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Liaise with legal counsel on any legal matters surrounding HR recruitment, disciplinary action, and termination if needed
  • Manage 401K saving scheme
  • Establish a monthly HR newsletter

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelors degree from a 4yr college or university or similar
  • 5+ years in a progressively responsible human resources role
  • 3+ years experience in labor and employee relations
  • 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
