This is a hands on role for a technically minded individual, ideally from a joinery background who will be actively involved in the build, assembly and installation of our exhibition stands and displays, predominantly based Based at A-SAFE HQ in Elland, Halifax.

Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours and stay away on occasion.
This sometimes includes paid overtime at evenings and weekends.

Key Deliverables:

  • All works associated with exhibition stand build.
  • Assembling and checking products for all marketing purposes including exhibitions, events, conferences, filming, photography, and testing.
  • Organising and maintaining stocks of exhibition and event materials.
  • Producing best practice instruction guides for installation and de-installation of exhibition stands worldwide.
  • Creating and following processes that optimise workflow and standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • All works associated with exhibition stand build.
  • Building custom exhibition stands in our workshop to the highest quality including flooring, equipment, furniture and products.
  • Designing and building custom furniture for exhibition stands to best display our products.
  • Checking and signing off all elements before packing up for shipment.
  • Packing up all elements effectively to ensure safe shipment worldwide.
  • Unpacking, checking, recording inventory and issues, and putting to stock returning exhibitions.
  • Assembling exhibition stands on-site within the UK and occasionally in other countries.
  • Checking product orders and assembling products for exhibitions, A-SAFE events and general marketing purposes such as filming; identifying non-conformances and finding a solution.
  • Creating assembly and installation instructions for other countries to follow when erecting exhibitions.
  • Creating flooring and electrical plans.
  • Ensuring literature and promotional items for exhibitions is safely and securely stored, and stock is rotated.
  • Ensuring exhibition materials and back cloths are stored effectively to maintain cleanliness and organised appropriately to support re-use.
  • Ensuring the exhibition area and tools are organised effectively to maximise space, optimise workflow, minimise loss and damage, and ensure everything has its place.
  • Proactively coming up with new ideas for displaying products and improving exhibition presence.
  • Proactively suggesting new ideas for improving workflow and processes.
  • Additional duties as deemed reasonable and necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Skills:

  • Joinery experience/skills.
  • Use of power tools.
  • Able to manufacture with a variety of materials, including working with Melamine, laminates, hard wood, MDF etc.
  • Able to carry out high end finish work.
  • Able to take accurate measurements and calculate quantities of materials
  • Good level of concentration for cutting and using tools safely and accurately.
  • Good at checking inventory and recording information.
  • Able to think of new ideas and alternative methods of build.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ideally with a full clean driving licence.
  • Good understanding of H&S in the workplace.
