A safety barrier (known as a guardrail in the USA) is a product that protects and segregates people, key structures and equipment from vehicles and machinery in the workplace.
A safety barrier should only be implemented as part of a wider traffic management programme that considers the safest possible layout of a facility and understands the potential forces of the vehicles operating therein. Only then can barriers that are fit for purpose be selected and implemented.
A-SAFE’s safety barriers are made from a patented material called Memaplex which will, upon impact, flex, absorb the forces and dissipate them throughout this material. This protects the barrier itself from failure, cushions the impact for the vehicle driver, prevents forces being sent to the floor and ripping up the substrate and, in turn, saves companies the potentially huge costs of accidents and injuries.
Safety barriers also define routes and walkways for vehicles and pedestrians, offering guidance around a facility.
