Base Plate and Upgrades

Changes have been made to offer much improved corrosion resistance of the post base plates supplied on all our products, whilst maintaining an excellent aesthetically pleasing appearance. This is being achieved by use of an improved protective coating process during manufacture of the base plates. The benefits involve the protection coating process utilising Zinc-Nickel Plating, providing an excellent level of corrosion protection, even under variable heat conditions; followed by Electrophoretic/E-Coat Painting, offering an excellent level of corrosion protection. The two upgrades available for customers are for stainless steel and galvanised base plates.

Applications and Benefits

For most environments the improved standard base plate is more than adequate for the job both outdoors and indoors. For more extreme outdoor environments, customers are offered the galvanised plate as an upgrade. For maximum protection from rust and anti corrosion would be the stainless steel base plate. These plates are mainly specified for either the ultimate in environments, like oil rigs, or for their hygienic value in the food processing
industry and compliment the A-Safe barriers, which are also inert, resistant to both chemicals and, of particular interest to the food industry, harmful bacteria.
