A-SAFE Welcomes Guests to HQ Event
A-SAFE opened its doors to customers for an event at its Elland HQ last week, with guests from Smurfit Kappa, EEF and McVitie’s all in attendance.
After beginning the day with breakfast and networking, guests were introduced to A-SAFE by UK Business Director, Mark Rhodes, with a presentation focused on A-SAFE’s investment into people and machinery, and a history of the brand.
Visiting customers were equipped with high-visibility vests for a live factory tour, where they observed A-SAFE’s state-of-the-art extrusion lines, cutting-edge machinery and unique material development first-hand. The Research & Development department then performed a live demonstration of A-SAFE’s world class barriers using industry-leading ramp and pendulum tests, followed by a tour of the normally top-secret R&D department.
As the day progressed, A-SAFE showcased its full product range with a walking product tour – where they saw safety solutions in real-world applications, protecting pedestrians and workplace vehicles throughout the facility.
This was followed by a presentation from Neil Clifford, Sales Director to explain A-SAFE’s involvement in initiating, sponsoring and technically authoring PAS 13 – a new best practice guide for safety barriers in the workplace, with recommendations for impact resilience, dimensions and positions of safety barriers, test method criteria and guidance on managing risk where the movement of vehicles, protection of personnel, equipment and vital structures is concerned.
A-SAFE finished the day with a demonstration of its new racking damage detection solution, RackEye™. The combined device, remote app and digital dashboard provides 24/7 monitoring of racking integrity and real-time alerts when damage occurs, meaning facility managers can control a multi-site network of racking structures from any location.
Guests tested their health & safety knowledge with a quiz to wrap up the event, with Steve Handford from Elm Sun Ltd taking home the mystery hamper.
Thanks again to everyone that attended.
