A-SAFE flexible barriers, unlike traditional rigid barriers such as steel or hard plastic, flex on impact. This allows impact forces to be absorbed by the barrier and dissipated through the barriers’ specially trademarked material, Memaplex.
A barrier that flexes has the capability to withstand repeated impacts from workplace vehicles and reform back to its original shape after impact, offering huge cost saving benefits on replacement barriers.
Installing a flexible barrier will also save money on maintenance costs because, when a barrier flexes, only 20% of the impact forces are transferred to the floor fixings. This means the fixings stay intact and do not rip upwards and out of the substrate. When a steel barrier is impacted 100% of the impact forces travel to the floor fixings, meaning both the barrier and the floor sustain damage and need replacing and fixing.
